My days have been up and down with battery life living in an LTE market. After two consecutive days of low-to-medium usage and hitting 15% by noon (having unplugged at 6:30AM) I downloaded JuiceDefender, and can last the entire day on low-to-medium usage, and still have 30% leftover by the time I go to charge at night.
I believe the up and down battery life has to do with switching between LTE and HSPA+. When I'm at work, my signal is pretty bad being towards the middle of a building. After loading up JuiceDefender (it basically manages your radio/data activity when the phone is locked), I've gotten it to a perfectly acceptable state.
I'm also an ex iPhone 3G/iPhone 4 user and am more than willing to give up decent battery life for a bigger screen and LTE. The only complaints I've had are little bugs that I attribute to the nature of Android's OS (Camera app fails periodically and requires a reboot of the phone, only once have I had the battery report 100% for a few hours before I noticed and had to reboot), but that's all minor. Both OS's have their positives and negatives.
