How is the video on the note 8

I'm thinking about getting the note 8 or pixel 2 xl, but I'm wondering how good the video is compared to other new phones?

Dxomark gave the video an 84, but the still camera got a 100. Pixel 2's camera got a better overall rating than the note 8.

How do you guys like the video despite the low rating from dxomark? Is it really worse than other top phones like the iPhone 8, v30, and pixel 2?

What were your settings for video quality etc? I never know what to do with settings. On S8+ if I turned video quality all the way up there was quite a bit of lag from time of hitting record button to when it would actually start..is that still present or do you recall?

I left settings however they were when they came with the phone.

I would try 1080p60 and compare it to 2160p30 on your TV. Too bad it doesn't shoot 1440p60. That would probability be the sweet spot between quality, judder and size.

Thanks for sharing. I can't tell difference between the phones. Does the video wobble when filming and moving around?

Also, how is the slo-mo camera? Is it as good as the iPhone's?

The new A11 chip for the iPhone 8 is more powerful than what's in the Note 8 or any Android phone right now. It allows 4k@60 FPS while other phones are limited to 4k@30 FPS. Slow motion can do 1080p@240 FPS on iPhone 8 and 720p@240 FPS on the Note.

Personally those things don't matter to me, I don't base my phone buying decision on the camera, all modern phone cameras have similar image quality that fails compared to a real camera.
