How is this as a PDF e-reader (or recommend a different tablet)

While I have perused many threads comparing and contrasting different tablets as e-readers, many of these threads are not predicated on the assumption of .pdf files. I almost bought a Nexus 7 but read that it was an unpleasant experience as a pdf e-reader (due to an inappropriate aspect ratio/small screen size). Is the Nexus 10 better? Would an Ipad be better for this?

Thanks for any responses and for sharing your experiences.

Well, I've read many PDFs on my N10 and had no problems reading them on the N10 in portrait or landscape mode.

Similarly no problems with Goggle Books or the Kindle app.

Comic Books look great on the screen too.

Pdf's are excellent on N10. Because of high-resolution display. I recommend downloading free Adobe pdf reader, instead of Google's pre-installed Quickoffice pdf reader. The latter is a little quirky in that it shows only one of the several pages displayable on the N10's massive display in high resolution, making it awkward to scan through a document.

Thanks for the responses guys. So the aspect ratio on the N10 doesnt make it hard to read PDFs for a long time? I will be using textbook-sized files and the ability to read the screen without difficulty for an extended period of time is of paramount importance to me.

Does the adobe reader allow for easy search functions or skipping to certain pages (without having to scroll through the first 500+ pages)?

I find PDF's on 16x9/10 abysmal at best. Too much is cut off in landscape and its too cramped in portrait.

I look at a lot of wiring schematics in PDF format for work and its all but impossible on my Xoom or Nexus 10. If you are zoomed out to get everything on the screen its too small to see and trace wires. If you zoom in you need to scroll and you'll generally lose track of the wire you were trying to follow. My employer bought us all iPads because of this and for that task its much much better.

However for just general reading its not terrible. Its much easier to manage PDF files on an Android tablet too. IOS sticks files with apps and just makes it a pain in the *** for no reason.
