How long before the USB door falls off?

Bought on June 6th. Broke on July 17th. Little plastic connector just broke from normal use. Called Samsung. I do have a warranty but it is basically useless since I have to send the phone in to Plano TX for repair. No phone for 9 to 11 days but the shipping is "prepaid".
Let's just call this "not waterproof".

Look on ebay-deal tom com has them for $2.99 at this time. Even though from china took about 7 days. I ordered 3 for safe keeping even tho I didn't need at this time. Called a OEM USB Charger Dock Port Cover Waterproof For Samsung Galaxy S5 SV I9600 G900. There all over Ebay. Good Luck

Anyone tempted to just rip it off?

You can just remove the screw in the back and take it off normally
