How long does it normally take to make a factory reset?

I've had some problems with my Samsung galaxy s6 edge, so I had to make a factory reset. The only problem is that it's been saying "Downloading... Do not turn off target" for the last four hours. I'm wondering if it usually take this long or if something's wrong. Thankfull for answer.
