How long for Verizon to release a 32GB Galaxy S5?

I am balancing returning to a flip phone for now and waiting , impatiently for a 32GB to arrive and if it doesn't get another brand of phone and being done with Samsung. I will give Apple credit where it is due. They deliver all storage capacities and do so without major issues (for most) but Samsung and the carriers milk this like its gold and its not.

I have owned many, many Samsung products but this may be the end of it for me. Not because they are not saying anything about a 32GB version, because they stated it exists, T-Mobile has it and Verizon can't or WON'T, same with AT&T. I get it maybe a few hundred thousand buyers want the 32GB on Verizon so what they don't stock it in the store, its an online only thing so get it in, stock it online and sell the friggin thing. Edge program has me saying get the 16GB and then trade it in for a 32GB in a couple months . . . if it comes out but why should I spend my money that way and why should I reward Samsung with any further business.

I was looking at the M8, but thanks to the nice comparison shot of the M7 vs M8 its a joke and I don't like HTC Sense and don't like the onscreen buttons (personal choice). I have a Note 3 on AT&T but its going back and I will just go MTM on Verizon with my crappy flip phone until something comes out that I do want.

Is anyone having trouble moving music files over to your SD (yes they are legitimately mine). For instance, I reloaded some of my ring tones. They loaded into my vault folder. It let me move them to my ringtone folder on my device but gives me an error & won't transfer. So I then download a new audio book, it loaded into my download folder. It wouldn't let me move it to my SD, but it moved to my music folder on device. Surely I'm doing something wrong?

Der.... I posted this on a totally different subject topic. Sorry, tried to delete. Will start my own post.

The Edge plan was my thought process. The monthly charge is $24.99 but since I have about a 10GB data plan, I get a $25 credit each month so in reality the device is free. If the 32gb drops I'll trade this one in.

Give the 16gb a shot. You have 14 days to see if it'll work for ya. :D

My thoughts exactly, I get the 10GB plan, I save $25 and I get a 23% discount as well for a corp discount. I don't mind paying down a bit out of pocket when the 32GB comes out, I just don't can't bring myself to rewarding Verizon or Samsung with the sale while they jerk us around and give them another sale or excuse to delay it due to sales doing so well.

That plus the faulty camera issue has me saying I will wait for the initial production run to be used up first then get the better built ones ;)

Because of the edge plan, I went with a 16 GB instead of waiting for the 32. We have a 10 GB plan, so it is a good deal, and I will simply get another phone in a year or less

Who cares? The phone is expandable up to a 128GB SD card.

Great, so I can put all of my apps and app data on the microSD card? Oh that's right I CAN'T do that. Just the small app portion not the large app data portion that will eat up the storage space like kids at a pie eating contest.

So 10GB of storage works for you and not for others who want 24+GB of storage space.

Last year Verizon said they had no plans to offer the Galaxy S4 32GB that was a month after the Galaxy S4 16GB launched. Then another month (two months after initial launch) they announced a 32GB Galaxy S4. So either they were jerking customers around (this is Verizon so very likely), they were pushing the 16GB only sales for as long as they could (this is Verizon so very likely) OR they actually had enough push back from unhappy customers that they caved and decided to offer the Galaxy S4 32GB (this is Verizon so NOT very likely).

Compare that to AT&T and their Galaxy S4 32GB launch. They started shipping the Galaxy S4 16GB in late April then about 17 days later on May 6th they offered the 32GB version. Now that said AT&T announced the pricing of the Galaxy S4 at $249.99 but failed to mentioned initially that it was for the 32GB version which was later clarified. So IF we are to follow AT&T's business model we should see the Galaxy S5 32GB sometime in the next 7-10 days. However I suspect it could be a bit later into May depending on how 16GB sales are going. If they are hot then they will hold off so they can sell more of the 16GB and save inventory and money. If they are lagging they will introduce it.

So I for one and waiting, I won't get sucked in waste my money on Verizon's edge program and pay $250 out of pocked in two months (normally I wouldn't mind) when I will just wait it out and see who delivers first. If its AT&T I am going there is a big hurry.

there's a big difference between external and internal memory, genius

I was thinking he was joking. Apps do not go on external storage. My S4 had less than 4gb free, so no go with the 10gb free on a 16gb model.

Agreed the on screen buttons kill the M8 for me. That and the non replaceable battery and the wasted bezel space. Device is Note level tall with a 5" display. All for a gimmicky camera.

I don't know if Verizon is to blame for the 32 GB S5 model not being currently available or if this is a Samsung issue. Bottom line is that both the 16 and 32 GB models should be made available for those of us that want the 32 GB model. Don't force me to choose a 16 GB phone when I feel as though 32 GB should be standard. If the 32 GB version is not offered at some point, Verizon just looks weak. If it isn't enough to have to wait and wait for updates! Verizon better watch out or their competition will quickly pass them by.

The memory card has limited functionality. Good for vids, pics, etc but only limited apps can be transferred to the memory card. I care because your statement is incorrect.

What you are saying may apply to you but you keep trying to apply it to everyone else. 16gb phones are useless to many people. Including me.

Why not just use an SD card?

Re: How long for Verizon to release a 32GB S5 ?

I think that you are looking at this from strictly an entertainment point of veiw. Some of us here actually use our phones as tools with our careers. I also think that just because you don't understand our need you shouldn't be saying that we are making it up. I don't need to explain to you why I need it. But trust me, I do.

Agree, I use my phone to run my construction business and if I have only 16gb of int storage my phone very quickly runs out of memory. I am waiting for the S5 with 32 or hoping 64gb of int storage, my Note 3 with 32gb is a beast of a phone but always like to keep up to date. I will never get rid of my Note 3, I will keep it as my bread and butter work horse. A 16gb phone shouldn't even be made, to me it is a joke. They eventually all slow down and run out of storage if used.

Install some large apps/games and you will answer your own question ;)

Kikat has basically made cards worthless for almost anything but read only media. If you do not install many apps though, no harm no foul.

Some of us do and some don't.

BTW, seems less likely a 32GB is happening. There was at least word by now on the S4 and now that the S5 Prime is coming to stunt the iPhone 6 mega launch later this summer, even more unlikely.

Added:

Any bets on a 32GB Prime? ;) I think the bet will be very Vegas in loss potential (high).
