I was on a trip recently and I had to use the GPS on my phone, but it really drained the battery much faster than expected.

I've had the phone for over two years now and I have switched the battery once.

I am not able to upgrade to a new phone now and wonder if getting another battery should help. How long should it take my phone to charge from 0% to 100%. It seems like my phone chargers faster on some outlets compared to others.

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the phone but I'd guess a couple of hours. Make sure the USB lead is good, and that the USB port connector is clean and undamaged.

1. 0% to 100%? Never. You NEVER drain the battery past 40%. It doesn't matter it you CAN'T charge it at that point - turn it off. The battery doesn't care what YOU need, it cares what IT needs.

2. How long should the battery last? Anywhere from an hour to 2 days. It depends on how you use it, and how you've used it in the past. (If you've always drained it to 0%, it should have been shot a long time ago.) A Samsung S3 battery is about $6.50. An Anker (I prefer them) is just under $10.
