Just got my HTC One from Viva Movil with the SIM Card already installed. I might have started activating it with my NGex on but quickly turned it off. It still said it was activating after 30 mins. I turned it off and then let it fully charge and tried again. It's been almost an hour now? I don't recall it ever taking this long. Verizon's right around the block so might take it there. Also only 3G is showed on...

I'd either go there or call to follow up. They quote you a time of up to 3 hours or something silly. It's never taken that long for me either. Usually only a few minutes.

I had a similar problem activating mine (I ordered from Newegg). I ended up activating on Verizon's website. It was fairly quick and painless.

Usually anywhere from 1-24 hours depending on carrier.

From my experience it usually is 1-3 hours.

Sent from my T-Mobile HTC One using AC Forums.

When I received mine from NewEgg it said the simcard was already installed and I encountered the same problem as you. They should have included another sim card in the package, replace the one in your phone with that one and it should activate within a few minutes as was the case with mine.

Same thing happened to me with my HTC one from Viva Movil. It was taking a long time. I shut down my old GNex, then went to the Verizon Wireless website. I went into my account and did the process to switch and existing phone number to a phone that was never on the account. I rebooted the HTC one and tried again and it works.

I got two from Viva Movil, one activated instantly the other was hanging, then I called Verizon and they got it to activate in a couple minutes.

I got my HTC one to activate in like 15 minutes , if that and it was so easy its like i didnt have to do anything. I use Verizon btw.
