How long to charge?

I just got my Droid today! How long should it take to charge? When will I know when it's charged?

Is there anything I should do from day one?

I'm not entirely sure exactly how long it takes to charge the Droid, since I do it overnight when I go to sleep. But I think its a few hours or so.

It's about 1 - 1 1/2 hours for me. Depends how low it was when I started, but it's really fast. You can tell when it's charged because the white LED by the charging port will turn off and the battery symbol in the top right corner will be filled and green and there's no longer a charging symbol in it.

Mine's not that new, but darned if it doesn't recharge quicker than just about any other phone I've had ...
