So originally I was going to ask Sprint for an early upgrade and get the SII around September 16th. Now I'm thinking that I'll wait until Thanksgiving break when I come back from school and ask for the early upgrade then. Do you think by that time the price will have dropped? possible $149.99? is $99 out of the question?

I know there will be several even better phones out by that time, but I'm really set on the SII and I dont need the most incredibly spec'ed phone out there. So does anyone think the price will drop in 2 months?

Amazon Wireless. They usually start the top of the line phones at $179.99 then in a week it's $149.99 and about two weeks after launch it's $99.99. The Photon came out on 7/31 at $179.99 on Amazon and by the week of 8/15 it was $99.99.

it really also depends how popular the phone is, if it is in high demand the price will stay up if not it will drop. look at the Evo 3d its $19.99 on wirefly now.

but when you buy from amazon/wirefly, doesn't sprint charge you some type of $49 fee?

Sprint does not charge additional fee when buying thru wirefly or amazon. But buying from Sprint.com does offer free activation for certain phones. Also, there is a $50 to $100 differences for new line vs upgrade existing line on wirefly and amazon. So for upgrading existing lines, the price drop is not that much after a month or two.

thanks for the help guys. what do you think the chances are of sprint itself dropping the price down to $149.99?

not a chance.. MAYBE the holiday, if not,, it won't happen till spring next year

u can only do new lines thru amazon. and wirefly will get some price drops as wwell as bestbuy and radioshack. I was able to get a motorola photon for my mom, which is fairly new, for $99 bucks at best buy, and they also had the nexus s 4g for free.
