How many Note 5 owners are waiting for Note 8

old processor. not great battery life. no water resistance. no dual camera, less ram. these are the things I can think of for now.

Adding:
No sd card support. No future updates. No updated spen options the Note 8 will have.

The Note 5 is still receiving security updates. As for the S pen, I don't think it matters what new options the Note 8 might have, it sure doesn't to me. I haven't even bothered to look and see what new things Samsung has done concerning the pen.

My contract is up in Nov and deciding between N8 and S8 Active. Not sure about that curved display though.

I still have my Note 5 but have been using an S8+ with a Stylus. I really miss s-pen functionality and I have pre-ordered a note 8. Note 5 is still a very solid device I mainly want the water resistance, expandable storage
and a few other fe................. No, really I am just a tech addict.. :)

Cheers,

I've been trying some different ROMs on my Note 5 and finally have one I like that has some Note 8 features built in.

I've been using my Note 5 as my daily and leaving my S7 Edge and S8+ at home. I have no plans on buying the Note 8. I've really cut back on my phone buying this year, it was getting out of hand.

This time around , I will dump verizon and go with Att ,
With Att , as soon as I pay off the fone ,
I can go to there website to unlock it and sell it if I want ..

Verrizon sucks , won't let you do anything .
never ...ever go back to them again .. IMO ..:D

Actually, Verizon sells the new Note 8 already unlocked... no need to pay it off, no need to wait. Check with them, and you'll see that I'm right.

Not sure if ALL Note 8's come unlocked, but I am sure that if you purchase from Verizon, it's unlocked on day 1.

I really want the best Note phone which, right now, is the Note 8. I just can't see spending that much money for the small upgrade from the Note 5 (64 gig version). I have plenty of cash and no debt so it is not a money issue for me. The Samsung Notes app is a definite down grade from S Note and the width of the screen is less room to take notes which matters more than the length to me.

I loved every note that I bought and each was a definite upgrade from the former except the 7 and now the 8. Some aspects were an upgrade but not enough to overcome the down sides and the price.

Samsung had a winner with the Note 5. If it wouldn't have been the first one without a removable battery and no SD card slot it would have been a much bigger hit.

What do like most about the Note 8?

Note is all about S-pen. I see significant difference in writing experience which is great (better control). Also, I am liking edge screen features and RAM management (much better than note 5). And surprisingly Bixby experience is turning out to be awesome. I am expecting good battery life too.

Not true. 4mm in height and -1mm in width. It's an amazing engineering and should be more comfortable to hold than note 5.
I was commenting as reference with the S8 active and the Note 8.

my N5 still has about 9 months to be paid off. will survey landscape then.

In the meantime still like it just fine. I have one crack on screen that I only notice at certain angles, enough to kill trade in opportunities but doesn't bother me.
