So iPhone user for over 7 years. Sister bought a Edge 7- raved about it. I used hers and thought it was amazing. Saved up and was going to get it this week. However, sister has now advised that she has a blank screen and has tried all the reboots/resets to no avail. It is still under warranty so she is going back to get the shop to sort it. However, I have heard this is common. What are your experiences if any with this and how easy was it to resolve? Thanks for your help and advice in advance

This can happen to any device any platform there usually a way to reboot device. It's not a norm for the 7 edge.

Yeah. It's not normal. And as been said, it happens to all phone models. Millions of these are built and law of averages says theres bound to be a few thousand or even hundred thousand duds. A hundred 100,000 is 1% of 10 million, and there have been 25 million S7 Edges sold BACK IN JUNE. It's a pretty good call to say that there are probably 50 million of the things out there, and 1 million duds would be just 2% failure rate.

A simple Google search of iPhone 6S black screen of death gives a a lot of hits, meaning its probably just as common, or rare, depending on how you look at it (actual number vs proportion of sold).

I personally haven't had this happen. I've had less concerning issues like the notification bar doesn't pull down, some screens act a little glitchy, etc.
