How many people are going to upgrade

I won't be getting a Note 7, at least for now. Even though the 6P is an older phone, I'm still very, very satisfied with it. I will look at the Marlin when it's released to see what I would do then but as for now, I'm good.

I'd really need to see what the next Nexus phones are like beyond just rumors. There's just not enough solid info for me to make a decision and I'm very pleased with my 6P.

I'm just not really sure what it could have that would be a big improvement over the 6P aside from just having a newer processor. A better/faster camera, being waterproof, and having a MicroSD slot are the only things I can think up. Also, I'm not going to consider it unless it's priced similarly to what the 6P was priced at.

The Note 7 looks compelling (I had a Note 4) but for now, my 6P works great. I'd like to see the next Nexus phone before making a decision.

You can forget about the SD slot, Google won't do it.

I probably won't switch, I'd like a smaller phone but it's not a burning need. The 6p was my great leap into the future, my first phone with a fingerprint scanner and USB-C, the new Nexus wouldn't be as big of a leap.

Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind once the new nexuses are officially released and reviewed. 😃

Why is that? What's the reason behind some of these flagships and no extra storage. Is it just to get the premium $$$ in upgrading to 64 or 128, or is there another reason?

For me, if the Marlin is a bit smaller in the hand than the 6P and everything else about it is good, I will probably grab it. I only just picked up the 6P a few weeks ago after jumping from Verizon (and years of Samsungs) to T-Mobile. I paid $399 for the white 64gb and should be able to recoup a good portion towards the Marlin. We shall see....

If you are looking to switch to a Nexus I'd wait for the new ones because they will get one more OS version than the current phones. As a 6P owner I have no plans to upgrade until the 2017 phones come out. The 2016 have two downgrades from the 6P, the 6P has stereo front facing speakers, the Marlin has a single downfacing speaker, I expect that will be much worse. The screen on the Marlin is also smaller than the 6P. The CPU in the 6P is slower than the Marlin but it's fast enough. The only reason that would make me change my mind is if the performance on Verizon is significantly better. Verizon will be selling the new phones, they don't sell the current phones, so there is reason to believe that they will do a better job of provisioning the Marlin on their network. There are Verizon bands that don't work on the 6P even though they are supported by the hardware because Verizon failed to provision their network to handle the 6P on those bands, if they are selling the new phones they might do a better job.

I'm not sure what you mean....I had the 6P on Verizon and it worked fine. My only issues were no Wi-Fi calling or visual voicemail support.

I'm perfectly happy with the 6P so nothing new for me until 2017.

I'm keeping up with the Nexus info as it comes out.
I may upgrade , and keep 6p as a backup.

There has to be something substantial to make me want to go up to the next Nexus device but from what I've seen so far, only the look of the phone has changed and a few minor things and that's not enough for me. When I do upgrade next though, it will be a Nexus device. Don't see myself looking back now as long as the camera stays up to par w/ top competitors.

Nope. So far the new Nexii aren't interesting enough to warrant an update

I went from a Galaxy Note 2 to the 6p
I'm still missing the stylus and multi-window functionality but it appears multi-window will be resolved with the next Android update.

I'll probably stick with this phone for at least another two

Even though I just picked up a 6P for $399, the Note 7 is definitely tickling my fancy, However I'll wait to see how these 2016 nexus phones are like are before I proceed.

I'm waiting to see what Google has up their sleeves for these new Nexus or not Nexus branded phones before I make any inform decision. For now I am content with my 6p.
