How many people are starting to lose the hype due to the long wait?

no lost love here ... took off for the release.. going to enjoy it all day...knowing it is coming sooooon is giving me this EPIC headache....

Me! That combined with the fact I was fed up with the fact of sprint jacking up my bill practally every month for the past year! I got sick of the battle every month when my bill was a little to WAY more than it should have been. I am quite pleased with my Droid!

Great! Except for the fact that my family HATES Verizon with a passion. I'll be quite happy with the only choice I have left, the Epic.

I never got my bill jacked up. Most of those types of complaints I see are actually from verizon customers.

I didn't either, but stupid AT&T sure did. I swapped AT&T sim cards for the longest time without charge, but all of a sudden, one day, they charge 50.00. We got it waived, but seriously, what gives?

Yeah, my bill has always been the same. ~145 or so family plan, discount and taxes included.

My bill is also around 135 to 145 a month for family plan with three phones and employee discount. My better half makes a few quick calls to Canada now and then which pushes it up a bit, those calls are free on our Vonage but not on Sprint. I would not get a discount on Verizon, so the long term cost would be substantially higher. At my brothers house the Verizon coverage is better, but I'm only there at Christmas so I just use his phone if mine does not work.

I am sick of waiting for the Epic 4g so I lost some hype. Not as excited as a month ago. I pre-ordered the phone at my local Radio Shack on Aug 13th and will not buy it on launch day. The wait seems like its a couple of months until release day. I only qualify for a $75 upgrade and Radio Shack retail price for the epic is $550. That means im only getting $25 off of the $499 price using my 1 year upgrade. Totally not worth it. I will use the $50 gift certificate toward something else and read reviews on phonescoop. As soon as I find a new epic 4g for $400 out the door on Craigslist, then I will buy it.

if the epic have been released on the 20th id have gotten it in a heartbeat but now since they rooted the EVO 2.2 and i finally got to try out a much smoother and uncapped fps custom rom, i have fell in love with it all over again and dont see enough reason to switch if it works well for me now

same here, if it was released on the 20th, i would have gotten it. i've watched enough review videos to know the phone is awesome but just came to a realization that i've hyped the phone too much for myself. so i'm going to put up with my touch pro 2 for a bit more (at least till it gets froyo) and see if the price drops on the epic.

My enthusiasm went from a "10" to about a "2" and this is mostly due to the LONG wait. ug. But, I will pickup my Epic 4G Tuesday from RS and I am sure my hype will go right back up to 10 again! hmmm. My hype just went up to a "3" from the low "2" I had. hahahahh

Be careful, you aren't uncapped but the LCD refreshes at twice the rate. Your Evo screen runs at 200% and the LCD will have half of it's normal lifespan. I'm glad you like it though.

i heard about this and understand the risks. what put my mind at ease is when it was mentioned over at xda that the hd2 also uses the double refresh rate like the evo hack does, plus im pretty sure that by the time the lcd's life span starts to go critical, im well into another device by then

No problem! I hope you enjoy your uncapped EVO! It probably rocks. Too bad that I couldn't root at the time that I wanted to get uncapped frame rates.
