Just bought mine about 2 weeks ago to use with my Note 5. I ABSOLUTELY Love-LOVE it! It provides some of the most AMAZING experiences! I wouldn't trade it for anything!! The cost for this showstopper is so good it almost seems unreal that you're getting SO MUCH for so little cost!! I love EVERYTHING I've downloaded. There are a few things I've downloaded that I cannot play due to vertigo, but MOST VR experiences are geniously created and are unremarkably realistic and loads of fun!! Plus, each game or app listed through the Oculus & Samsung store has a comfortability rating on it so you can automatically see ratings from other users so that you can decide whether or not the app or game will be tolerable for you. I am pretty comfortable with the ones labeled "comfortable for most". This doesn't mean I don't try other types, it just gives me an idea of what others think before I take the plunge & try it myself!!

The "REALITY" of it is, THIS Samsung Gear VR is the way of the future! Imagine not having to leave your home but yet you can participate in so MANY things, including games, sports, productions, vacation spots, other types of travel by air, land, and sea... Unimaginable visual experiences and totally emersive concepts, and a whole gamut of other things to come!!! I know I'd probably become a definite hermit in the flesh but I'd be a true VR experiencer!! If you're in the middle and undecided, GO for it!! Get one!!! I promise, You'll be Soooo Happy you did it! See You in VR world!!!

Hi everyone, I preordered the galaxy S7 edge so I'll be receiving my headset soon and judging by most of your comments I can't wait, I was just wondering if anyone knows how this stacks up to vive they apparently sold out and they go for $800 each

Comparing this to the HTC Vive is almost as tough as comparing Google Cardboard to Gear VR; they're in a completely different league! Basically, if you are comparing Gear VR to the Vive, you will most likely be disappointed.

There's no positional head-tracking with Gear VR (meaning it can't detect if you crouch or walk forward), the field-of-view isn't as wide, and the resolution definitely isn't as good. Also, Gear VR is relying on a phone to handle the experience, as opposed to a powerful gaming rig.

With that said, Gear VR is simply AMAZING for what it is - an entry point into the world of VR, and a nice (fairly) mobile solution at that! There are quite a few great apps already, and it's just going to keep getting better!

Thanks for the response I'm still new to this, do you know if vive offer the same content other than games such as movies and sports and can you create your own content like the gear vr?
