If my daughter did all that social media crap when I put her through Purdue, I would have taken her smartphone away & given her a flip phone for sure .... I fact I would not allow any phone in your possession!

There are options to turn all that crap off during school & study hours!

I had a little sympathy when you said you were a student & then POW, it hit me & what I went through many years ago with my daughter .... your name fits you well!

I paid for everything (College, Apartment & Food) she blew off her last quarter Some can, but some are so sucked in by all the gadgets, that they just throw it all away. I didn't say I would take it from anybody else ..... My daughter & I are very close & she would totally understand if I thought it got in the way .... maybe not at the time, but hse has thanked me for a lot of the tings I did as a father that she didn't like then .... some day you'll be old too! Think about what you say today so you can reflect tomorrow! BTW, there are other options to being old & I prefer to be old

And yes I agree if someone can't be trusted to their own devices (pardon the pun) then it's probably from a parent that didn't learn how to let go of the reins and allow their child to mature correctly. I used to work with this one blowhard that would have his daughter check in at every day at 4:00pm. If he didn't get a call by 4:02pm, he'd make a phone call and would berate her. Such an excellent father he was... Oh, and he was a little old and real crazy too, a perfect stroke candidate.

A quick glance at the time stamp on your past posts show that you're on the forum throughout the day from morning to night, so explain to me what the difference is whether you go online via your phone, or your pc?
I see you added an "lol" to your comment, so I'm sure you weren't out to offend anyone, but you're contradicting yourself just a little bit with your comment.

I used to be a control freak myself, and found that I was just making myself miserable. I still find I make myself miserable when I'm driving in rush hour traffic. One of these days I'll learn to just let go. I say you consider the same.....

Well I just didn't see it as harmless. You're preaching to the guy.... Because he said he is a heavy user. He says he uses his phone for school.... And you then tell him to get off the social and study basically. He could be making straight A's for all you know. It may have seemed harmless to you but just annoys me when people instantly jump to the "you'll fail!" or "you're failing due to (insert something about games or technology here)".... When you aren't and they don't even know.

My solution, charger at home ,work in car.

For overseas trip I bought external battery ViViS Power, 20cm pipe containing 7800maH battery, has USB port for charging external device, and micro USB port to recharge it.

Can even use it inline between phone charger and phone.

Have been able to recharge my flat S3 while using it on 12h flight.

However, I go into my phone and disable most apps which I NEVER use. I noticed this makes my phone last longer.
