How many users have decided to go with NO Insurance on the V20?

No insurance. The last time I broke a phone was a palm Treo 650 and I dropped the phone while talking on it. And I fixed it for $30.00. If you add up all the money I would have spent on insurance even if I broke or lost this V20 I would still be far ahead in what I saved considering monthly cost and deductible.

I have yet to ever break a device. The worst I ever did was drop a device and have one ding on the side.
Oh well kudos there. I myself can be a little clumsy sometimes so I do make mistakes every now and then where I drop my phone or I leave it on bad angle surface and it drops from there. So that's why I personally find insurance to be beneficial for me.

Never get insurance myself. Pay in full either via retailer or other 2nd-hand sources. Then get a basic case and don't drop/lose it.

Should the unthinkable happen, at that point I'm sure I can find an even cheaper one on eBay/Swappa/CL.

For the money I've saved by not paying insurance over the years, I could afford to kill a few phones. :)

Now for my more accident prone/forgetful family/friends, I always suggest they get insurance. It'll pay for itself in no time. Hah.

I don't use insurance. I can change a broken lcd and digitizer for far less than the deductable they want nowadays. V20 screens are at $150 now but as always will probably drop below $100 in no time and Lg phones are so easy to repair!

I never say never, and always get insurance on my phones. Accidents happen to the best of us.

Good point. 20 some screws and you can replace any part on the V20.

I don't purport to be able to build/repair my phone better than LG. So, I have insurance.

At $11/month w/ a $200 deductible you pay what? around $132/year. I haven't damaged phones in the last couple of years, but I did have one year where my husband and I both destroyed our phones with water... I'd do insurance.

I have never bought any extended warranty on anything I have ever bought. B&H wanted I think $129 for the warranty and there was a $75 deductible. I actually considered it this time (must be old age creeping in) but the delectable quashed that idea.

Looking at the recent history of the LG phones, I would get insurance. I had the bootloop on my LG G4, which LG took care of. But 3 months later on my new G4, the motherboard went out. Went through two G4s in less than 9 months. It is a new phone, get insurance for at least the first year.

Has anyone tried a Verizon extended warranty as an option? If so, how did it go? Thanks!

If you're concerned about bootlooping and such, getting insurance for only a year is a waste because you already get that from the manufacturer. You likely would need to get it from the start unless your carrier offers an open enrollment, but the idea is you'll keep the insurance active past the regular warranty to keep the protection going.

Also, insurance is overkill unless you're wanting the loss/damage protection. If you just want the warranty coverage, look into extended warranties for a cheaper price.

I have it, but haven't had to file a claim with it yet. For a few bucks a month that cover the life of the phone, it's a good deal in my opinion.

With HTC I risked going without because I had Uh oh - and wound up needing it - but without that.... you bet I'll have insurance for a phone this expensive. I kind of like that Tmo Jump includes the upgrades and insurance together in the fee, which feels like better value somehow...

I got the insurance on my V20. As slippery as the back is with this phone, no matter how careful I am, I felt is was a must. Then you add in the shattering of the camera lens, it was just something I was going to get.
