how much better is dual core?

Read through the next page of test results. While some certainly show processes and tests that are only using 1 core, some are making use of both cores to get the numbers they are.

I did read it, those were history log from start up, the info did not show them in real time useage under any load. And the benchmarking software doesnt dramaticly sway me, because who wouldn't expect a great GPU from Nvidia? And that really didn't walk away with all the medals so how does that prove that 2.2 makes use of both cores?
I wanna the greatness of Dualcore just as much as everyone else but as of right now twin core CPUs are just "future proofing" if there is such a thing in the tech world.

Context

I think the issue with some of this argument is context. Many of those who are saying Dual Core is not a biog deal keep saying that the OS and software won't take full advantage of the 2 cores. While that is true, I think the reality is that while it won't take FULL advantage, there will be SOME advantages.

The scores we are seeing on Dual Core devices and overall performance seems to be better than we are seeing on Single cores. No, you aren't seeing 200%, but you are seeing 120% or more in some cases.

Of course we won't really know until these devices are in the wild. But i just don't think it is 100% to say that Dual core won't do anything. It may offer some significant improvements, even if not what you would get from a system designed for dual core from the kernel up.

(I think the only technology coming out that is mobile in the next few months that will take full advantage of a dual core system is RIM's new Tablet OS on the PlayBook. QNX is known to handle multi core systems very well. That will be a major advantage RIM will have with that Platform going forward.)

This was my point as well. Never was trying to portray that dual core was FULLY rockin just yet.
