I got a task manager now and I only have like 148mb free. I came from a storm and on a good battery pull I would have 35mb but after a few hours I was rocking 19mb and ready to do a quick pull.

Mak, dump the task manager. Totally useless on Android and can cause many problems. The OS closes apps as needed. Welcome to 2010!

IMO, I wouldn't even bother installing a task manager on Android. The operating system automatically manages memory and closes apps when necessary so you shouldn't have to do anything! :)

thanks I will now figure out how to delete this. I love android! No more black berry for me.

not even a restart

lol...this was my biggest gripe with BB OS....why in the world do you have to restart the phone after every single app install/uninstall. God it feels good to be away from all that! :)

how do you have only 148megs free out of 748? good god what have you installed? i installed something like 10 apps last night and i'm still at 701 megs free...

No its from my 501mbs of ROM I'm still rockin 701 in free memory

As long as you're over ~40MB Sense will work fine and stay pretty snappy. At 26MB, the phone will have to start shutting things down just to run the OS. Without looking I'd imagine it's set to attempt to keep ~32 MB free at all times.

In other words, you're not even close to having to worry about it ;)
