How much longer will the ten be supported?

Just asking cuz I wanna trade my s8 for one lol, yes I know.

I think it's nearing the end of it's support cycle. I have the M8, M9, 10 and now the U11. I fully expect the U11 to get Android P. Each of those phones got updates for two years until the next platform update. The 10 is nearing it's 2 year mark and I'm sure it's going to be getting Oreo but after that it's a coin toss.

Oreo is almost definitely it's last major OS update - and that's if they decide to re-release it. They released it and then unreleased it. It came out in 2016, so best guess is that security updates are over by the end of this year as well. That said, everything should still work on it software-wise for at least a couple more years.

The question should be how much it had already been supported? My 10 has been in ruins since nougat update which was more than 1 year ago and HTC doesn't seem to feel responsible for further update. Shame!

I figured this would be it but I like the build and it seems better built than the u11.

I will still pick one up as a secondary phone.

Well I haven't experienced any of that. Have you tried a FDR? That usually send to help just about any issue I've ever had. I always try wiping the cache first. I'd that doesn't work then I do a full wipe. My 10 still runs as smooth as the day I got it and I pre ordered it.

People seem to forget, everything needs maintenance. People say, "well I paid xxx amount of dollars on a phone, it should just work". Ok well, people also pay thousands of dollars for granite countertops and guess what, they require maintenance. People pay millions for IT solutions, servers, techs and all that. Guess what, every computer and server needs maintenance. Your phone is no different. If you can't learn how to maintain your phone then maybe buy a flip phone. My m9, aside from a little battery degradation, runs as it did the day I got it. It is my universal remote and my 8 year olds mp3 player. My 10 is mine and/or my wife's backup phone and a home Media device as I use it for most of my casting to the CC or fire stick. Learn how to maintain your.devices and they'll last a very long time.

I never do OS updates now after similar experience with M8 OS upgrade. Was the perfect phone with KitKat and then lost significant perfomance when upgraded to Lollipop and marshmallow.

Still running marshmallow on my HTC 10 and use greenify to block the update notification. Some have been lucky with the updates and not experienced any performance issues upgrading to 7.0 but unfortunately many have, just look at some of the threads posts on AC and Reddit.

I don't even think 7.0 is all that anyways compared to 6.0, there is nothing there that is must have for me.
