How much RAM is normal to have free?

So after I close all apps through the switcher and then clear all data on Device care, I get about 3 to 3.8gb free to use of RAM. Is this normal, to take half of the 8gb? Screenshot_20190409-010412_Device%20care.jpeg

If it's a new phone, that's about right. Over time, available RAM will drop as you add more apps and the phone optimizes itself. In Android, there's a saying, "Fee RAM is wasted RAM." The phone works best when it's full and trying to arbitrarily keep it cleared will hurt performance.

Yes. Please read this article (older but still 100% relevant). "Unused RAM is wasted RAM"

Clearing out RAM actually causes it to work harder since it will try and refill it back up.

Read Multitasking the Android Way. It's more normal, after closing things - then letting things settle down for a few minutes - to have very little RAM free. Android isn't supposed to run with free RAM. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. (This isn't Windows. Windows wants lots of free RAM, Android wants as much RAM in use as practical.)
