How much SCREEN ON time are you getting?

Hey everyone,

I've had my gs4 for about 4 months now and love it, but hearing so many bad things about the battery, I want to find out if mine is doing its job or not.

I get about 3 to 3 and a half hours of screen on time before I need to plug it in. Is this normal? What are you guys getting? Thanks

That sounds about right to me. It sounds like you have location services (Google Now) running.

Here's my latest, this has been a good average for me lately but still always tweaking it. I use it quite a bit and that's with no wifi.

That's amazing! Can you list your general settings? (Ie: screen brightness, services, sync, etc).

Also, do you have mobile data on?

I used too average 5:40 screen on time in the begining weeks with the S4, now im down to 3:30 with like 2 hours or more of wakelocks. When I get a chance I will factory reset to get rid of all the wakelocks.

The only things I turn on are sound, mobile data, screen rotation and sync (only for gmail) . Everything else gets turned on as needed. Don't have home Internet so no wifi. Gps only if I need it for a map. Buzz launcher. Animations at zero. Screens usually around 25% bright most time.
Custom rom, tweaked custom kernel, greenified a bunch of apps, probably made the biggest difference. I don't do voice controls, air swiping or location settings.
But I do love this phone.

I average out a garbage 2-2.5 hours with every feature turned off. I refuse to text people or make phone calls until half the day is through so this thing will last till I get home from work.

Are you gaming or streaming video? It'll take a hit in that case. Can you post battery use pics, maybe the main screen.
