Hey all,

Wondering how often do you restart your Note 4 to guarantee optimum performance? Every morning or on every app install or once a week or never bother?

When i had my Note 2, i restart every morning to remove all those wakelocks just in case.

Cheers.

Always good to restart every now and then

Amazing Verizon Galaxy Note 4

I had noticably better performance with my note 3 when I started restarting every night before bed. Have always done the same with the note 4 out of habit.

I rarely do it...in case the phone freezes up or something!

The one thing I hate about Android is the ability of the alarm to go off when the phone is powered off!! the Alarm does't work, so I have to keep the phone running.

But it's interesting I never knew the phone performance could be better if you restart ur phone every so often!

Sometimes. Only if I need to pull the SD card, Sim card or I think it is acting up. Probably have restarted less than 10 times since day 1.

I do turn off every night for charging and restart in the morning. I know I can get at least two full days and maybe then some on it if I had to. It's just a habit I do every night before going to bed. There are times I wait two days to do it, but just habit I guess.

Restarting getting rid of wakelocks? It gets rid of the display, but the things that are waking the phone will still wake it after a restart?

I restart my phone when I need to - to switch batteries (I do it once a month), to switch ROMs (whenever I feel like it), to check something in TWRP if someone asks a question and I can't remember the answer without looking ...

I've had phones restarted 5 times in an hour and I've had them run months without being turned off or restarting. They don't perform differently in either case.

Just plug in at night -- no worries then :).

rarely if ever do i restart. it happens if i swap a battery out which might be once a month or so

About once a day.. Most of the time I am swapping blue tooth headphones between my phone, tab, and Gear S. So, sometime I will turn the Note 4 off, so it will let go of my headphones. Yeah, I know, there is a easier way to do that.. :D

Once a day with a battery swap...leaving the battery on constantly just opens the door for battery draining apps to run in the background without you noticing...

Every morning. I turn my phone off at night and wake up and turn it on. Or sometimes I do leave it on at night and when I wake up I turn it off then back on. Its always good to restart your phone once a day

I would never reboot if I didn't have to, but every so often it seems like the battery starts draining quicker than usual so that is when I reboot. I would guess its every couple of weeks or more?

Rooted T-Mobile variant on AT&T here, a daily reboot profile in Tasker reboots my phone at 5AM just after my morning alarm. At the same time audio levels are returned to normal (they are lowered automatically when placed on the charger at night).
