How old are the Gear owners?

Ha, I am 73, did the same thing you did. I got them at $209.. Got 3 of them. Kept the jet black and sold the other two also..

I'm not surprised the 40+ group is winning. Most are empty nesters and most have probably paid more than $300 for a watch that just tells time. So a watch that does all the stuff the Gear does for $300 is a great deal when you think about it.

That is very true for me! I am 41 and love my watches. My other three watches "just tell time" and range from $895.00 to $2300.00.

I thought it was not a bad price, for a watch I would actually wear!! I am enjoying my GG.............

I'm a gadget freak also. Just picked up the Gear yesterday. I'm not completely sold as of yet but imagine I will be before the Best Buy return period is reached. I'm 50 by the way. Our group is ahead now.

During your return period, if anything is not to your liking, or you can't understand, I recommend take it back and get another one.

I took my first one I had back after 15 days.. Got another one, only to discover, there was NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FIRST ONE!!!

It was USER ERROR...

The crackling seems to be intermittent. I'm going to keep it a bit longer to try to determine the cause prior to returning it. At first I thought it might be range related, but today it did it when the phone was less than 3 feet away.

If I do exchange it for another, can the settings on the phone be installed to the replacement gear or will I have to set everything up again?

Most likely you will have to set everything up again. The Gear doesn't have a sim..

From your description of what is going on, I would strongly advise returning it while you are in your return window.. Just like I returned mine, and found out nothing was wrong with it, it is better to do it that way, instead of not returning it and something is really wrong with it.. Any doubts whatsoever, if you are in your return window, return it. . All you lose is a little bit of time and gas, and in return you get peace of mind..

I don't own one (and wouldn't buy one...yet), but I have a feeling the 'winners' will be categories 2 and 3... anyone below 18 is just not interested (or mommy and daddy just won't pay for that) and anyone over 40, I fear, will be greatly annoyed by it after two or three days and find they have no real use for the device (unless they really want to feel like **** Tracy hehe). But it will be interesting to see, no doubt...

I am 60 and a sucker for anything with a screen and a "on" button. Yes... I do feel like "Rick Tracy"... That is supposed to be the letter d.

45 here. Rogers was selling it's gently used Note 3's (returned before 15 days) for $0 down, and they combined that deal with a $49 gear with note 3 contract. So $49 down for both.
