lots of web articles about safe mode for phones and tablets; but have not found any for ANDROID laptop safe mode.

I'm guessing you mean a Chromebook, because there are no Android laptops per se. From what I'm seeing, it sounds like safe mode is a feature that has been asked for but not implemented. This thread has a couple of suggestions that may help as a work around.

I've seen some pretty crappy Android "laptops" that are essentially tablets with an attached keyboard, from brands like Craig and RCA. OP could be talking about one of those.

There are some Android loads that can be put on old laptops, x86 variants. Basically, turns the old laptop into a chromebook. I forget the name of the load that I earlier tried. Kinda neat, but didn't really fully work for all features. For example, most video streaming services apps (eg: Netflix) annotated the Android as rooted and then didn't work. Probably works better now (it was at least a year ago now, if not longer, when I last played with it).

Edit: Here's the one I previously played around with. Apparently, grew out of for on Phones/Tablets, but a variant also exists for putting on PCs/Laptops.

It's usually in the restart menu on devices, it would help to know what device you have in order to help.

Device is Kocaso NB726 android 4.0.3 notebook/netbook.
It is currently a blackscreen, won't bootup & display, power lite(s) are on, usb socket has power outage. Currently, with black screen, I can't find a Restart Menu or any other menus; , but maybe safe mode>menu might "boot it up ?

Looking up that device, it sounds ancient. Not sure if/how you would be able to boot into safe mode, but I honestly don't think it's worth it. It's running a version of Android that's almost a decade old, and it's probably just done for due to a hardware failure.

It is a bit old, but I have a Kocaso android v.4.4 tablet that HAS a TABLET METHOD of entering safe mode. But, for the Kocaso nb726 notebook I need A LAPTOP safe mode METHOD, because tablet method button usage DOES NOT apply to the lap/notebook.

I made you the owner of the original guest post to make it easier for you to find.

Does it make sounds, like for notifications? If so, the display may have failed.

Try forcing a shutdown by pressing an holding Power for about 30 seconds. Then wait a few seconds, and power on again normally. If the power light comes on but the display doesn't, then the display has failed.

Is there a Volume button anywhere? If so, when powering on, try pressing and holding Volume Down during the entire boot process to see if that gets you to Safe Mode.

Welcome to AC!
That Android version I wouldn't trust putting private information on it .

I'll bet there are no physical Volume or Home buttons on that thing. If we're lucky, maybe there's a Volume button on the keyboard that works the same way.

Yeah I couldn't find a lot about their device, but I found that button combo for a different model that had keyboard too.

Seems that it (or similar models) might have an HDMI port? If yes, hook it up to an external monitor to see if anything shows up on that monitor. As mentioned a couple posts ago, maybe it's a problem with the screen.

In my (bille2) 10/8/22 3:24PM discussion posting I Should have said USB socket has power OUTPUT instead of "power outage".
I tried multiple long clichold "on" then "off", no luck , will try any other up/down directions buttons.
