how serious is this gps problem?

so it seems that this new 7 has some gps problems. does every tablet have the same problem, or it happens to some users, what is the percentage?

and can this be fixed with a software update in the future?

It is pretty bad if you need it for a while. However they are releasing a patch that supposedly addresses GPS and multitouch.

With the supposed fix just released and still rolling out via OTA updates, I would say either

a) Go ahead & pick up the new N7 if the GPS issue was the only thing holding you back, and just be prepared to return it if the update doesn't actually fix the issue (assuming it's a deal-breaker for you)

or

b) Wait several days to hear reports back from folks about whether it seems to truly fix the issue.

Honestly, I bet it will fix the issue, and this few weeks of hiccups will become a blip in our rear view. That tends to be the case with many issues that come up in new versions of Android. Everyone makes a big stink for a few weeks, it's fixed, we all move on.

When are these updates sent out? I just checked mine and it says I am up to date. My Build says JSS15J
can you go to a website and get it somehow?

Generally OTA (over-the-air) updates roll out over the course of 2-4 days, or you can force it following instructions here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...e-now-thru-google-developer-no-need-wait.html

Yes everything works perfect no touch screen lag and the gps works fine
