how stop the software auto update

my all applications are fully update automaticaly so i cant browse in my mobile with wifi when i on my wifi software update starts

Go into the Play Store, tap the menu (3-bar menu, top left) and select settings. The very first item in the list controls auto-update. Adjust as desired.

I did this and it doesn't work for me. It still auto updates all the apps when I'm on wifi. I'm using HTC m8.
