How to activate on Verizon

Hello All--

I am a newbie. Please forgive me and be gentle.

I had been looking forward to getting the N7 LTE on Verizon, but just read the thread saying that the device is not supported by Verizon, but there may be work-around if I do something special with SIM cards. Can someone tell me in big dummy terms what I need to do to ensure that I can activate on Verizon? I am on the Family Share Plan and was hoping to add the device to plan for $10 and use my existing data plan.

Please help this not-so-knowledgable guy understand the sim work-around.

I haven't gotten a Sim card with Verizon but I don't think there is a trick to activation assuming you have a Sim from them.. I think the "trick" is Verizon is LTE only. There is no CDMA fallback. No LTE = no service.

Check droid life coverage of VZW on N7. No issues.

Thanks to those that have responded so far. What has me confused, is the guy who started teh thread linked below is saying that we cannot just go to Verizon and get a SIM card, that we have to use one from another device and cut it. Is this correct or should I be able to just get a card from any Verizon store?

Just get a card from Verizon, but give them time to update their system for this new device. Since they are not currently selling them, it is probably not a priority. In other words, they have not updated their computers to accept the new IMEIs yet.You will not have to cut a card!
