Android Central Question

I just updated my Lenovo tab 4 8 from Android version 7 to Android version 8 Oreo. Now there is no recent apps lock which is quite frustrating. does anyone know if there is a method of activating this on Oreo?

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by recent apps lock? Do you mean disabling the Recent Apps button?

My Lenovo using Android 7 was able to lock the recent apps (or intents) by using a lock/unlock icon on the top bar of the displayed app. Hence if you wiped all the recent apps, it would leave the locked ones. But after upgrading to Android 8 the lock/unlock icon is no longer there.

It may be a problem with Lenovo software as my wifes Huawei phone running on Android 8 has this lock unlock function.

Oh, I see. That's not a native feature of Android (i.e., it's not available on Google devices like Pixel or Nexus devices), so it's a modification the manufacturer made. They presumably decided to get rid of it with the Oreo update.
