How to add new contacts to Exchange by default (not to Phone)

When I'm in the contacts app on my HTC One, if I click the + symbol to add a new contact, my HTC One by default wants to add the new contact to my "Phone" database, not to my "Exchange ActiveSync" database. Yes, I can click the "Phone" option and manually switch it to "Exchange ActiveSync" each time I enter a new contact, but this is tedious and not always easy to remember. So, how can I make "Exchange ActiveSync" the default whenever I want to add a new contact?
