How to add the download folder to gallery?

how to add the download folder to gallery

have an htc one m8 and using the stock gallery.
the app detects new folder that have pics or videos and ask me if i want to link it, however, for the download folder it doesnt.

the download folder have everything from my Gmail, chrome, etc... for some reason it doesnt link to gallery, and also doesnt show up in google photos either.

any suggestions how to make the gallery reads specific folders?

tried the unhide options, also clearing the cache and default, it didnt work

Make sure there's no file in the Downloads folder named .nomedia. If there is, no pictures in that folder will show. (That's the only purpose of that file, so you can delete or rename it. a file named .nomedi won't hide the pictures, and you can always add the "a" back if you want.)
