I followed the advice from another forum. I want incoming calls from unknown callers to have a ringtone different from anyone in My Contacts (I only show Google Contacts in my Contacts - the default address book in the LG G2).
1. I set my default ringtone to the Munsters Theme.
2. I then created a Group called "Known" and put everyone in it, except the dozen whom have their own ringtones.
3. I then edited the Group and assigned the Old Phone ringtone to the Group.
Now, when I look at any of my Contacts, they either are in the Known Group but still show the Munsters Theme or are one of the 12 and still have their specific ringtone. But no one has the Old Phone ringtone set.
Will the Group ringtone override the individual Contact's ringtone?
I seem to recall when I was using Zedge to download ringtones that I could assign a ringtone to Unknown callers. But I don't see that option anymore.

PS - just a thought: wouldn't it be nice if default numbers and ringtone settings were synced along with other Contacts' details?!
