Re: How to avoid KitKat 4.4.2 update?
Hi nemsis, yes I did it as per your instructions at 1st, then darkmage chimed in to do this, do a Factory reset/wipe cache. I did that, I did not see in the Application Manager/all, the Software Upate was not there at all to shut off.
also before I didn't know of the Wipe cache, 2 Samsung guys try to help me out, but that was before I did not know to do Factory reset/Wipe cache, no luck with Samsaung guys.
So yesterday I did the Factory reset/Wipe cache was a no go, I had to go back at BB after a no go, to ask Samsung another question, the guy was there was Travis, very up on a lot of tech.stuff. I told him what his 2 co-worker try to help on on your instructions, then told him what I did as per, he asked me whom is my Carrier? I told him Verizion, he said, that is why it did not work for me, Verizon has it set up in their phones so I can not do it on turning off Software Update. Thanks for the reply, I'm just going to have to bit the bullet.
Last night on my the update downloaded on it's own, yep, it forces the update down our throat.
Samsung guy said it will install kitkat sooner or latter on it's own, it did on his phone he said, but he said his phone had no problems with Kitkat.
I may try it again, one for the road, do a Factory/data reset/wipe cache, turn Wifi off 1st and not to log into Google like you said, if that does not work again then, back to bit the bullet again. Wife getting pretty upset me spending to much time on this KitKat crap, of how too, so on, nothing againist any one here trying to help me, I'm usally a person that doesn't give up, but I think it is coming to that point with me after this last try, that latter I will try it again, thanks for the help.
Well did it again, and it was a no go, Turnd off Wifi did thisFactory/data/cache wipe, was a Hardset.did not log into Google.then rebooted phone fooled instruction after rebooted, did not log into Googles. then I notice the Wifi and 4G gets turned on Automatically, strange, I ran and unplugged my power to the Router, but anyway still no software update to turn off in Applicationmanager.
So now I will throw in the TOWEL, wife saw me fiddling with my phone again, she said, what are you doing? I said, just doing a data wipe, she just said Oh! because she would rather not hear it again about Kitkat. Yep! bit the bullet with Kitkat sooner or latter. Hey! maybe our friendly Google people will have the newer firmware update.Ha! Ha!
