Hi,
I tried to pay the full price for buying driod turbo form verizon website, however in the final step it asked me to add data plan to check out.
I wonder that why I cannot check out without the data plan.
Already contacted the customer service by live chat, they told me I can do it without data plan.
But, the fact is that I cannot check out until I add data plan.
Can someone please let me know what to do?

Thanks!

Buy it with a data plan at discount then cancel the plan and pay the termination fee.

How about calling Verizon over the phone and order it that way?

Best Buy is selling it off contract, for a blue 32 GB version, but it's $700.

Just order it through their Iconic portal: https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/

You can log in as an existing customer and select "order without service". Now you can search for the Droid Turbo by manufacturer. Just make sure you select all devices so that you see everything by Motorola and all Droid variants.

I am grandfathered into Verizon's unlimited data so I have to pay full retail for my phones. I found out long ago that you either have to go into the store or call their 800 number in order to buy a phone outside of contract.

I'd sell mine for 100 less than verizon if you out of contract guys are interested pm me. Glass screen protector and tudia case, brand new condition, 4 weeks old. Black kevlar 32gb.

You can also order it for full retail (and without having to select a data plan) online through the Verizon Wirelss Iconic Portal as described by dusoccer10 above. I communicated with verizon chat support online and that's the same link they gave me to order at full retail. However, I ended up going into a vzw store to make the purchase anyway and told the sales rep I wanted to buy the phone as a gift for a friend at full retail price. I noticed on his computer that he also used the Iconic Portal website to sell the device to me, as their regular ordering system would not allow him to sell it with out selecting a data plan.

I ordered Droid Turbo full retail through the regular website and kept my existing UDP. IIRC you don't select a data plan, and it defaults to your existing one, but it's been awhile.

I noticed the same thing, called tech support and they emailed me a link that allowed ordering at full price without a data plan.

Yeah I had the same issue. Store manager told me he couldn't sell it without attaching it to an account but he found a loophole. Just didn't want to change my data plan.

Yeah I was unable to do this on release day back in October, I ultimately just went into a corporate store and bought it after about 29 minutes if trying to get someone to help me.

Once they found out I had a grandfathered plan they wouldn't help. I shouldve tried over the phone though.

Yeah I made up a story to get it. F Verizon. I've been a loyal customer for 15 years and am offering to pay over $700 to keep my plan and you make it that difficult?
