How to change Beautiful Widgets Purchase from GetJar to Market?

A long time ago I downloaded/installed Beautiful Widgets from GetJar. I now want to remove the GetJar BW and purchase and install the Market version. Everytime I try to download/install the Market version I get a message that says "you haven't purchased BW so you can't download/update it. It says "purchased" on my Market listing, so there is no purchase choice. I want to purchase it but I can't.

I've tried removing GetJar, removing BW and the Animation screens, deleting the directories on the SD card, rebooting and trying again. Nada. Still it tells me I haven't purchased the app so I can't download it from the market. Oh, I also have wiped my cache/data in the Market (new Google Play) twice, rebooted, and still no-joy.

Any ideas?

I just uninstalled the getjar version, then downloaded the market one. Have you tried purchasing from the website instead of from the phone?

You should try going into settings -> applications -> market(play) and clear data on the market. That should fix it.

Although I had tried all that, I just tried it again. Didn't work. The problem seems to be that even after installing it, it remains listed as "purchased". Therefore, when I attempt to download it, and pay for it, it says "not purchased" and won't let me. There is never any option given to me to purchase it (because it thinks I have - then not). Frustrating. I guess I'll just re-load the GetJar version and keep using it.

Oh, yes, I also tried purchasing it from the website. It says "your download will be sent to you phone shortly", but it never is. The website keeps it listed as "purchased" for me also.

You should try going into settings -> applications -> market(play) and clear data on the market. That should fix it.

I've done that 4 times so far. Including a battery pull and restart in between. Doesn't work.

I have the same problem with Swiftkey, I got it from the Amazon Appstore and somehow it got deleted from said Amazon appstore, last week when it was on sale I tried to purchase it so I had it, no go. I tried every which way I could. Any help would be appreciated.

Why do you want to.pay for an app in the market that you hot free originally? I got tapatalk free.....same as if I paid for it. Saving money is a good thing!

I'm sick of it constantly asking me to update it and then it fails. Also, Google Play Store gets the new versions first. Also, to reward the author.

Do GetJar versions update at all? Their storefront doesn't appear to have any update mechanism.

It would be nice to find a way to clear market history with apps. I hate that you can buy the app from amazon but Google market shows it purchased from them as well

Okay, found the solution....

1. Go to Settings/Applications, and find the Google Play Store.
2. Uninstall all updates.
3. Go to your Apps Menu, and the Market will again be displayed.
4. Launch the Market, accept the terms and the original Market will load.
5. Seach your app and purchase it!

My Market updated back to the Google Play Store after I bought it, but it worked. The trick is to do it fast before the updater starts to run, and reverts it to the newer version. Google knows about the bug, and they "say" they are working on it... but who knows. I had the exact same problem as Frank, so I tried it and worked for me. Hope this helps.

There is no update mechanism I don't think. But I have updated via GetJar by simply removing the old and installing the new. Problem is, the GetJar website doesn't publish what version it is in the on-line description so you can check. Right now, the BW GetJar version is 3.75 and the Market version is 4.0. In the past, I've just waited about a month and then GetJar would have the new version (of BW). You have to download it to find out. Occasionally, some feature new with the new version might be listed on GetJar. Usually not enough to be sure though.

After you uninistalled Beautiful Widgets, did yours still say "Purchased" in the Market when you listed it? Even when it was not installed? That's my problem. Mine even continues to say "Purchased" in the Web Market during all of this. It's the whole "Purchased" thing that's killing me.

Thanks. Looks like I was wrong about GetJar... it does notify you of updates. It just notified me and I updated without issue. Hooray! I'm now on BW v4.02.

Also, BW no longer shows as installed when I look at my Market | Menu| My apps. Great. It does still show as installed if I simply search for it in the Market.

Looks like BW has been through 3 updates since yesterday. Here's the Change Log...

Trying emailing the author and see what he has to say since you can't get it.
Tapatalk from Getjar said I needed to pay I just went into it again and got it free again.......no issues !
