How to change keyboard default from mic to pen?

By default, when the keyboard is activated, the default input button (to the left of space bar), is always set to microphone. Is there a way to change this, so the default is handwriting?

I had the same problem and couldnt find a way to do it either. The option I went with was to just disable google voice typing in the settings. I never use it on the 10.1 so that worked for me. Would love to hear other options if someone knows of another way.
