How to change picture names?

Hi all, is there a way to change the file names of the picture taken on the phone, from YYYYMMDD to something else? Anything else?

1. Open your file manager app
2. Go to where the file is saved
3. Long press on the file you want to change
4. In the window that just popped up select the rename option
5. Rename the file to whatever you wish
6. Hit OK

The file should now be named with whatever name you gave it.

Not in a stock app, maybe a third party app???

Keep in mind, all picture files have to have a different name. They can't all be the same. Such as mountain1.jpeg mountain2.jpeg and so on.


Also btw you can change the file name through the stock gallery app. While viewing picture hit more>details>edit

I'll do some research on third party apps. I just don't like having the date and time as every photo name. When I send them to people or upload them onto Flickr everyone will know when I took them.

Most photos have time stamps embedded into it. Even a file named mountain1.jpeg, all you have to do is select picture details or right click and properties on a pc.

I know, but I don't want timestamps as names for every photo.

What about using a pc? You could select multiple pictures & rename them all at one time. They would keep the same title and add a number. E.g. Disneyland, Disneyland (2), etc.

I have the same question, and it's not about renaming individual photos or even batches. It's about a different naming regime, like on a digital camera that starts at DSN1000, for example. Easier and nicer to work with. Can you replace the date-based Android regime with a simpler one? Nothing to do with the metadata which does lie beneath.??
