How to Change Screen Lock Type from None to lock screen code?

In settings under Privacy and Screen Lock Type is set to "None' I want to change to a number lock screen code.

Presumably you've tapped the box to show the other options?
I'm not sure whether you'd have to Clear Credentials if 'None' is set, but try. It's in Settings, Security.
