How to clear Samsung Notes/S Pen clipboard on Note 8?

Hello, I'm having a weird issue.

I was using my S Pen to do some custom typefont art on Samsung Notes, and I wondered what the selection tool did, so I tried selecting some of my writing, and now I can't write without the 'paste' icon constantly interrupting me every time I touch the pen to the screen in Notes.

I cleared my clipboard and turned my phone off and on, but in Samsung Notes it still gives me the 'paste' icon every time I use my pen. This is really frustrating because I can't hold the pen to the screen for more than a split second without it stopping the writing and prompting me to paste.

So then I have to start over and scribble a bit before writing anything. This has practically ruined it for me. Is there anyone who has experienced this and/or knows how to fix it?
 
While I recognize this is an old question, it is the first google result for this issue (and in fact, the only relevant google result for this issue that I could find). So I feel compelled to answer for anyone wondering how to clear the S-Pen clipboard.

In order to clear the S-Pen clipboard, you must open S Note (Not Samsung Notes, S Note). Open a new note, or use one you've already created - you won't need to alter it. Tap the overflow menu (three dots in top right corner). Select 'Insert', then 'Clipboard', and then 'Delete All'. Your clipboard should now be empty.
