How to clear system cache?

I want to clear my system cache in the recovery menu, how do you get there? I'm used to doing it on an HTC.

Surely that's how you'd boot into Recovery on a Samsung? How on earth could that be done on the G4?
I wonder whether the author of the piece has tried booting into Recovery on a G4.

I'm curious about this. I've never had an LG phone so maybe this is an stupid question, but here it goes anyway

I've read in different places that the G3 and G4 don't have a method to wipe the cache partition through stock recovery. It can be done only if you have root access and a custom recovery. And any question about this wipe is answered with the clear cache method in settings - storage.

In most phones I know those are two completely different things. For example, clearing cache in storage settings won't touch the cache partition but will free space in your phone. And wiping the cache partition won't touch that data cached by your apps and won't free any space at all.

How does it work in your LGs?

I know this is a bit of an old thread, but I found a way to clear system cache, at least on Verizon. With the phone off, I pressed and held the power and volume down buttons. I didn't let off like other instructions said, just held them down until it booted into the recovery screen. It had a cache wipe option right next to the factory reset button.

Thx for sharing. I tried twice on my unlocked International version, but it just booted normally.

Its amazing how different the phones can be. This method works every single time on my Sprint version of the G4. I also have a full recovery menu (wipe cache, adb sideload, etc) where it appears many other versions don't. Crazy.
