How to Close programs .. seem to always run

It seems like every program I run stays running even if I back out of it. Is that the case? Some programs will ask if you want to exit on the last back keypress but others just disappear (and adv task killer shows them running).

Is this behavior the same when I am in the middle of a program and hit home (vs. back, back, back...) ?

Do I just go into adv. TK and kill the running ones every once in awhile? TIA!

I personally just use Adv. TK to close the ones still running that I want to close.

I just picked up my droid today, and according to the VZW chick, it is a known issue, she downloaded Adv. Task Killer, and told me to use that till the new update...

Could be right, could be wrong.

Known issue? What does it matter if a program is still running? This isnt a Blackberry where running programs will bog down the phone if you leave them open

Don't worry about programs running, it makes little difference on battery life and system speed. The os handles memory usage very well. I found advanced task killer was causing my phone to randomly reboot.
