How to copy MMS from Android to desktop (other device)

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S3 and my service provider automatically downloads voice mail messages onto my phone, together with automatic computer transcription (black text on green background) of the message (sometimes very good, sometimes not, depending on the audio quality, background noise and speaker accent). Below the text transcription, there are two links:

  • flush left: cid:nnn (where each "n" represents a digit 0-9)
  • flush right: MMS ► (with the ► symbol inside a circle similar to the play symbol on most players)
If I click on either link, it launches an audio player and I can hear the voice mail. It also displays the transcribed text full-screen (white text on black background).

Therefore, I can replay voice messages without logging into my voice mail system. Presumably, the digits "nnn" are an index reference to the MMS (audio, in this case). However, I have been unable to find the associated audio (multimedia) file, so that I can transfer it to my laptop or other device. I presume it is in some proprietary format and/or is embedded in some other container that is not obvious / intuitive. And/or, maybe the MMS files are in a hidden directory on my Android?

I searched Google with the search string: "cid: Android MMS format"

One of the more promising finds was:
Is there any open source utility / tool that I can use to extract the MMS and save on my laptop as a open audio format (mp3 or other) ... either as a stand-alone GUI or command line tool?

My immediate objective is to extract some key messages (transfer to my laptop) and to save them in an open media (audio) format such as mp3, etc.

(Note, the subject key voice messages have already been auto-deleted from the original voice mail system, so the only copy I have is stored on my Android phone in this "cid:nnn" format. And, yes, I know I can use a microphone to (re) record the message, but the loss of quality is significant and not really acceptable in these cases.)

Thanks in advance,

Peter
