Hello,
Thanks for reading my question. How do I copy pictures or vids sent via text message and paste them into another text? When I long press on the pic I don't get that option.
Thank you.

When you long press a text message that contains a picture, you should get a "Forward" option. Just change the text, enter a recipient and you're good to go.

2nd option: Tap the picture to see it full screen. Once there, save it to your phone. Create a new text message and insert the picture.

Thanks for the reply. So, there is no way to copy a pic or vid? Forwarding a video means I have to save the persons number I'm chatting with or remeber it. Saving the pic and then going to gallery, finding the pic, then opening then, then sending it. A lot of steps, would be nice to have a copy feature

As far as copying a picture you could use the SPen, smart select feature, draw a box around the picture and click the share button. It's effectively copying it as doing this doesn't save it to your gallery and its quick, which sounds like is important to you. I've never tried it with a video though, but I doubt it would work the way you want it to...

That's never happened to me and I've done it dozens of times. I've used it successfully with both textra and hangouts. I'm on Verizon. What apps and carrier are you using?

Att, maybe third party's apps are fine, but sending it over the stock messaging app won't work

So if I wanna send a picture of some property to a client I can't use the s pen, I have to screen shot it, then crop the photo. Really annoying

When I need to send a picture or Quote to a Travel partner, I use the S Select tool and use the Rectangle. I save it to the gallery, insert it in the text and delete when I'm finished. Super easy for me. I hope this helps.

Just switched to the stock messaging app and had no problem. I can't imagine AT&T would disable such a simple, useful feature. Can anyone else on AT&T confirm that you can't text an image selected with smart select?

I don't mean to infer user error, Rob, but I just can't believe AT&T would not allow it...

I'm on AT&T. How do I know if I'm using the AT&T messaging versus the stock messaging app?

You can't imagine a carrier removing simple, useful features, lol.
Verizon removed write on PDF and find my mobile.
The smart select share works though.

I just tested this as well using the stock messaging app (AT&T).

Used the smart select feature to draw a rectangle around the picture, clicked share, messages, added my wife as a recipient, and sent her the photo.

Worked as it should...

Yea, but I can't send pics that I've made using the s pen. Says wrong media type

Are you talking about pictures you've saved to Gallery using Smart Select than later tried to send them through messaging? Reason I ask is, back when I had the Att model, you could use Smart Select to cut out an image and share it right away. However, if you saved it to gallery it would not allow you to send it through messaging later. Apparently it was a glitch with the Att model, doesn't happen with my 920i. Anyway, there's a work around for that issue if that's what's going on. When you use Smart Select to cut out an image, before saving, select the "write" option then save it to you're gallery. It can be sent through messaging later if you use those steps. There's an old thread where this issue was discussed.
