How to deactivate pop up bubble in message app?

Hey folks. I have the unlock version, carrier is Tmobile. How can I deactivate the annoying pop-up bubble in the native message app? I would like to still get notifications via pull down from the status bar and display full detail from any screen.

Just go to your phone's Settings, go to the Advanced Features section, and turn off (or customize) the Smart Pop-up view option. Your messaging app must be active there, which is why you're getting your notifications as 'chat heads'.

SpookDroid, Thanks! I was looking at the wrong setting, I went to the Message app and Notifications setting instead.

Glad you got it sorted! Yeah, notifications per app don't change, but activating Samsung's notification options (like Edge Lighting or Smart Pop-Up View) changes things as it intercepts the standard app notification. It's a nice feature to have, but I feel they shouldn't have enabled it by default.
