How to delete +1 in front of incoming domestic calls

For the past five days or so, on my Samsung Galaxy Note20 5G, all incoming domestic calls to my phone--that is, all my incoming calls--have a +1 in front of them. Thus it is impossible to return the call quickly without being asked whether I want to make an international call. I have seen that, over the past several years, a number of people have reported this problem on different phones. I have tried turning off Assisted Dialing, but the problem remains. Does anyone know a solution? Does this problem involve Samsung or Verizon, my carrier?

I have same problem. Given the pain this causes I'm actually going to switch carriers. Seems Verizon updates corrupt things and they keep saying nothing wrong with my phone. Too many trips to their store for zero resolution.

i thought for all domestic calls outside of your own area code, the phone automatically adds +1 in front to indicate the phone is not coming from your area code.
