How to delete auto backup album from gallery

there is no such photo folder, this thumbnail in auto backup is irriating please get me a permanent fix. even deleting all the pics doesn't help.

I eventually gave in! I am now using "photos" to view my pictures instead of Gallery. I disabled the Gallery app so I didnt have to look at the stupid picasa folder. I've grown on the "photos" app. I like how 'Highlights' is layed out

Its very simple to get rid of the auto backup folder.
Please try the following steps:
Login to google+ on your PC.
go to photos, you'll be able to see all your albums there.
Click on the arrow on the extreme right end top of the album.
Select all your photos and click on option move to bin.
you can later empty your bin.
All your photos will be deleted and you'll not see any auto backup folder on your android device.

I hope this will work for you.
you can contact me on my email adi.sorya@gmail.com for any further issues with android or any windows devices.

Thanks,
Aditya Roy

I got mine cleaned up. First, delete the photos from G+. Go to Settings, select Apps. On the top, you will see DOWNLOADED, RUNNING, ALL. You need to swipe to left to see ALL. Under ALL, you will find Gallery. Select Gallery, Force Stop, Clear Data....... That's it.

ok so someone pleaseeee help me!! I have deleted ALL PHOTOS FROM AUTO BACKUP online but the album still shows up on my phone. how do I delete the auto backup album out of my gallery??

You can't. Simply select refresh in your gallery app and the album will disappear if there is no photos in it.

There is a way to completely disable the auto back up and delete the pics. It is multi-stepped but you only have yo do it once.
On your phone:
Go to settings-accounts-google and tap on your gmail account unselected photos
Settings-apps-all and disable picassa uploader (this may not be on your phone it may have been removed in KitKat)

On the web:
Go to Google.com and tap the box of squares on top. Select more, then photos. You need to sign in.
Delete all the pics.

On your phone go to Settings-apps-all and clear the cache and data in the photo and gallery apps.
Reboot the phone.
The pics should be gone (it may take a bit longer to load these apps the first time after you do this)

If I'm getting this right, all you need to do is go to settings > accounts > your google account > uncheck "Google photos" and clear data on the gallery app.

I have done it...
- Disable Google+ Autobackup feature.
- Go to Google+ Photos on web.
- Delete Autobackup folder from there
- Now go to settings of your android device
- Under settings->Apps
- Select Google+
- Force Stop.
- Close the settings
- Open again Google+
Now your Google+ starts work normally, see in gallery the autobackup folder still exists.. It should be vanished

It worked like charm!
the auto backup folder disappeared and all the folder of my device is visible.
Thanks!!!

If you select on the pinwheel photos app, I was able to delete mine that way. When you press on the photo it will give you the trash can.
