Android Central Question

I have two primary Google accounts linked to my OnePlus6. Few days back I had to add my friend's account as well just to test a few settings. I removed the account thereafter. Since then, my contacts show different names for numbers that we shared or the names we shared.

For e.g. - when I search Mom now, I can see three numbers stored. Two of my mom and one of his mom as he also stored his mom's no by just the name Mom. Also if there was a number I stored as ABC XYZ and he stored the same no as PQRST, both are available to me now.

When I try to manually delete those contacts, I am shown a message " The contact does not exist" but it very much interfere's with my apps.

I tried calling another friend of mine via Duo and the name that appeared in the screen was the one that my friend had saved in his phone.

Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>Show System, and then look for Contact Storage. Clear the app cache/data from that, then open Contacts again and give it a few seconds to re-sync with your Google account. Be aware that if you have any contacts saved to the local Phone account, this will wipe those contacts out as well.
