How to dictate replies in email

Hello All. I just got the Note 4 (previously had iphone 4S) and the one feature that I always used was the dictation feature to reply to emails. I was told that the Note 4 has this feature, but I can't figure out how to activate/use it. Was I led astray or am I just too android-illiterate to figure it out?

When the keyboard appears during the reply, just hit the little microphone button. The voice-recognition will then begin.

It's the button left of the space bar. If it's not showing a microphone hold it down and it will give you options.

Thank you, thank you!! I saw that button, but when I hit it, I kept getting the screen that allows you to write the response. I didn't get the microphone until I held the button down.
