Hey guys, I just bought a separate case wallet case (NOT S COVER) with magnet so it does the auto sleep/wake function on my galaxy s4

I want to know if there is a way to turn off the S cover view home screen (i time and date for few seconds for S Covers).

Thanks!

That doe not disable S View, just gives you the option of not having the phone unlock when the cover is opened.. can s view be disabled all together ?

My question is why would one want the S-View cover if they are not going to use S-View? I've had a look in my settings and I can't find anything whatsoever that will stop it from happening. You could physically remove the magnets from your cover and restitch it? That's the only thing I can think of.

cuz it puts the phone in bloody sleep mode when you flip the case all the way back. You cannot press any buttons to make it work until you move the cover far enough away from the back of the phone. Even putting your finger between the magnet and the back of the case does not always work.

Get rid of the cover, get another without the magnet and get this program: Proximity Screen Off Pro

The Samsung S-View doesn't do that, must be a 3rd party case problem.

Longer view?

On the other hand, is there any way to make the S-View display any longer than the default 10 seconds or so?

Another gimmicky application on s4 that no one uses nor know how to disable.

So much of this crap on s4, unbelievable.

This one is not gimmicky. I have a leather flip case and when I open it, it turns on, when I close it, it turns off (doesn't go into sleep mode). I never have to press the power button or the home button. I love it.

Open the back cover and put a bit of sticky tape over the contacts on the little circuit board on the case, or the phone.
I wish it didn't do the stupid thing when the cover is opened all the way around. Must be a small magnet in the cover. Does the original Samsung cover do this as well?

My Note 3 is doing the same thing, and what is even stranger is that when the cover is all the way back, if I move the cover around the S-View comes in and out depending on the position of the cover when it is all the way back.....weirdness! huh?

I own a Note 4 and the Sview cover.
To disable the cover from auto sleep /waking the phone I put a piece of paper between the electronic contacts of the Sview cover and my phone.
Works like a charm but if I close the cover while the screen is still on, sometime it registers random taps on the screen.
BTW, the original Samsung Sview cover will not affect the screen while flipped all the way behind the phone.
I Always use original accessories.

Galaxy note 4 and original sview cover. It works perfectly, does not react when cover is opened all the way around the phone

I found a way to keep the cover AND to disable sleeping mode when you close the cover. Why would you do that ? to prevent apps to sleep when the cover is closed. Why would you do that. You do it if you want, if you don't, just don't do it ^^

I found nothing on my device, I found nothing on the Internet. So I had to find a workaround, and I found one ;)

Remove you cover, You will notice 2 golden connectors (on my S5) used to connect the cover to the phone. Simply put some tape over them and it works (S-View is now physically disabled)
