I bought an s4 mini used and not sure what the model it is. I know it's an sgh-i275m but not sure if it's a GT-I9190, GT-I9195 or even know what that part of the model number indicates. Any help would be much appreciated.

Settings>About device will list things like model number, android version, etc.

That's the first place I checked but it only displays the "SGH-I257M". I also checked the getting started guide and the box but nothing lists the "GT-XXXX" part of the model.

I found some info on the wikipedia page though that seems to suggest it's related to the band or region, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S4_Mini, which is accurate in my case because I'm in Canada and it lists the "SGH-I257M" as "Canadian AWS LTE (SGH-I257M)", Still wondering if this is at all related to chipset though.

The sgh is the model number then, since it appears to be from Canada

No sweat. The other model numbers you listed were international ones. Canada and the US often share similar models. I think this is because of similar radios.

Just happened to see this thread because I am researching this Model to possibly use on Metro PCS /TMobile in USA.

SGH i257 IS the model number.

This is an upgrade over most S4 Minis because it has16 GIG ROM versus 8 in other versions.

There are also more frequency bands in this version enabling it to unlocked and (hopefully) get full speed with many Carriers .

This is also used by AT&T USA.

There are no different Cameras, and all ,S4 Minis have dualcore 1.7 GHZ. CPU and 1.5 GIG RAM.

But yours has an extra 8 GIG ROM .
